Wellsville, NYDorothy H. Brocking, a former longtime resident of White Plains, New York and currently residing at 46 ˝ Wheeler Place, Wellsville, New York died on September 26,2003 at the age of 97 at the Highland Health Care Center in Wellsville.
Miss Brocking was born on December 28,1905 in White Plains , New York to August and Sophie Von Glahn Brocking. She cared for her mother for many years and work in sales for Oppenheim Collins and Slaons Furniture. She also managed a hat store for a period of time. Miss Brocking was a life member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in White Plains, a church of which her father was a charter member. She taught Sunday School for 42 years and sang in the choir.
Miss Brocking was predeceased by
a brother, Harry Brocking and a sister, Marguerite[Stephen] Dombrowsky. She is survived by a niece , Senta[Alpheus]Streeter of Wellsville, New York, a nephew Donald[Lila] Dombrowsky of St. Augustine, Florida, a nephew Bobby[Joy]Brocking and a niece, Ruth Brocking; grand nieces and nephews- especially
Donna[Alfred] Perecca and Stephen Dombrowsky all of Spring Valley, New York.
Services will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 3 Carhart Ave., White Plains, New York 10605-1495 on Saturday October 4 at 11am .A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in lieu of floral tributes. Funeral arrangements were made by the J.W.Embser Sons Funeral home in Wellsville, New York.
