Richard  J.  Hannigan   88  formerly of 2885 Robbins Court, died Sunday August 10, 2003 at the Tender Care Nursing Home in Traverse City, MI.  He was born on May 25, 1915 in Wellsville the son of Frederick and Ella (Reynolds) Hannigan.  On June 14, 1941 he married Minnie A. Reed in Belmont, NY who predeceased him in 2001. 

Richard is a former resident of the Thousand Island Park, NY.  He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and retired from L.B. Finewood Construction Company in Rochester.  He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. (C.C.C.) working in Almond and Red House.  Richard was also a member of the Teamsters Local 389 in Rochester.

He is survived by 1 son, Roger Hannigan and 1 daughter, Dorothy (Willie) Kye of Traverse City, MI, 5 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

Richard was predeceased by 1 brother, George Hannigan and 1 sister, Ida Hannigan.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday August 13, 2003 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville.  The funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Lee Williams presiding.  Burial will be in the McKean Memorial Park in Lafayette, PA.  Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps. or the American Cancer Society.
