Ruby J. VanGorder of 120 Maple Ave. died at home on Wednesday December 3, 2003. She was born on November 1, 1916 in Alfred to Bryon and Blanche Chaffee Clair. On April 6, 1937 in Elkland,PA. she married Walden L. VanGorder who predeceased her on April 29,1988. Ruby was a former resident of Belmont and Addison. She worked for Lodge on the Green in Painted Post and in the mid 1940s for the Texas Hot, loved all animals and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville.

Survivors include :   a son Charles F. VanGorder of Wellsville and a daughter Sandra L. [John] Cleary of Pittsford ; 2 granddaughters and 3 great grand children.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Friday December 5 at 2pm in the Immaculate Conception Church with Reverend Dennis Wolf Celebrant. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery and donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W.Embser Sons F.H. in Wellsville.
