Edna L. Fanton, age 78 of 3227 Riverside Drive died unexpectedly at home on Thursday July 24, 2003.  She was born September 25, 1924 in Andover, N.Y.; the daughter of Leon and Marie (Alvord) Claire. On January 26, 1946 in Andover she married Leaon E. Fanton who survives. Edna was a life long resident of the Wellsville area and was a loving homemaker for her family. 

Surviving in addition to her husband are 1 son, Leaon “Bob” (Rebecca) Fanton of Wellsville, 3 granddaughters, Terry (Scott) Dodge  of Brooksville, FL. , Michelle Fanton and Erica Fanton both of Wellsville. 3 sisters, Ida Bongiva of Kenmore, Charlotte (Robert) Lynch of Wellsville and Irene (Harold) Tiffany of Andover.  2 brothers, Ernest (Beverly) Claire of Wellsville and Phillip Clarke of Andover, as well as several nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by 1 sister, Elizabeth Stanberry and 2 brothers, Louis Claire & Clinton Claire

Friends are invited to call on Monday July 28, 2003 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm. in the funeral home, with Rev. Anna Shirey presiding. Interment will be in the Stannards Cemetery and memorial suggestions include any charity of the donor’s choice.
